Get ready for the 2012 Irongirl Syracuse Sprint Triathlon with this 12 week training program. Designed for the new, aspiring triathlete, this training plan will gradually introduce you to the disciplines of swim, bike, run. This training program will provide you with detailed workouts for swim, bike and run as well as tips along the way to ensure you are confident and strong for race day! (Doing your second or third Irongirl? This program has multi-levels built in so you can choose your workout according to your fitness level!).
Your plan is created by Hypercat Racing expert coach and pro triathlete and winner of the inaugural Irongirl Syracuse triathlon, Rachel Casanta.
Plan to commit approximately five to eight hours per week to training. The plan schedule is structured with one to two workouts per day, on an average of five to six days per week. Training is periodized with progressions in distance and intensity so that you will be ready to feel strong and confident on race day.
Your training plan begins on May 14, 2012 and culminates with race day on August 5, 2012.

The plan includes a comprehensive training plan reference guide. In addition to explanations of basic traning concepts, workout terms and abbreviations, the reference guide also includes a swim pace chart, equipment checklist and collection of course tips for the swim, bike and run.
Regular benchmark sessions in swim, bike and run are schedules at regular intervals over the course of 12 weeks so that you can gauge your progress.
Your training plan will be delivered via TrainingPeaks. A 'basic' TrainingPeaks account is included with the purchase of this training plan.
-If you already have a TrainingPeaks account, your Hypercat coach will manually load your Irongirl Syracuse training plan into your account. (this will require your authorization to move your account to Hypercat temporarily so that we can load your plan).
-If you do not have a training peaks account, your coach will create an account for you and upload your plan. A follow-up email will be sent to you with your login information.
If you desire the enhanced functionality of a premium TrainingPeaks account, you can upgrade your account directly via TrainingPeaks, but that is not necessary to your enjoyment of the program.
