Do you have an interest in swimming, running, cycling, strength training or the sport of triathlon? Do you seek an internship experience that combines your love of sport with the real world experience of working with a small business?  Hypercat Racing, an endurance sport coaching & performance services company based in Ventura, Calif, is looking for upbeat, hard-working, ambitious communications interns for the fall/winter and spring semesters.  Journalism, marketing and sport management majors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Internships Requirements:
-Positive, can do attitude.
-Pro-active self starter who takes initiative
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Must be extremely organized
-Self-Sufficient with great problem solving capabilities
-Detail oriented with a willingness to learn
-Prioritizing projects and completing them in a timely manner
- Familiarity with endurance sports, the triathlon lifestyle & jargon or willingness to learn fast!

Social Media/ Marketing Intern

Responsibilities:
-Update social media accounts daily with relevant brand/company activity information
-Work with Hypercat to develop a strategy & schedule for Twitter & Facebook accounts
-Brainstorm and implement creative strategies to increase traffic and followers
-Create promotional and advertising strategies to implement for upcoming events
-Showcase events through the creation of photo albums and post coverage

Marketing/Communications Intern

Responsibilities:
-Work with Hypercat president to create and establish a 1st quarter 2012 marketing plan/2012 marketing calendar.
-Research costs for marketing materials. Place orders.
-Assist in the design/creation and order process of Hypercat cycling & triathlon kits.
-Work with Social Media Intern to coordinate online efforts.
-Create calendar of articles for 1st and 2nd quarter newsletter and potential blog posts.
-Assist in the writing, layout and creation of Hypercat Racing e-newsletters.
-Research, write articles for blog & newsletter as appropriate.

 

Athlete Liason / Content Writer

Responsibilities:
-Athlete liason will communicate directly with Hypercat athlete clients and help develop content to highlight their performances and tell their individual stories. 
-Creation of one 300-350 word blog post per week, including images or videos
-Development and creation of Hypercat Racing athlete profile pages for www.hypercat.com .
-Complete additional tasks related to athlete communications as needed
-Communicate weekly with Internship Supervisor.
